Witter ponders future after loss

Witter was hampered by an elbow injury
Briton Junior Witter expects to return to the ring despite his emphatic WBC light-welterweight defeat by Devon Alexander in California.
The Sheffield fighter, 35, will make a final decision on his future after advice from promoter Mick Hennessy and trainers Dominic and Brendan Ingle.
"I don't think it's my last fight. I've got to decide exactly where I'm going and which way I go about it," he said.
"At the minute I just want to get away from it for a bit."
Witter had hoped to reclaim the WBC crown he lost to Timothy Bradley in May 2008 and strengthen his case for a lucrative match-up with fellow Briton and WBA title-holder Amir Khan.

But he was badly hampered by an elbow injury picked up in round four and struggled to fend off his 22-year-old American opponent.
After sustaining a cut over his right eye and consulting with Ingle, Witter crossed the ring to congratulate Alexander after round eight.
"I'll see how my injury is, see how my eye heals up and go from there," added Witter.
The loss was only Witter's third in 42 professional fights since making his debut in January 1997.
