Charm to star at lonely Kempton
With its own dedicated railway station just 30 minutes from London's Waterloo and positioned just off an exit from the M3 it's hard to understand why the crowds don't flock to the venue. Some of the recent meetings have attracted pitiful numbers.
However, the quality of the all-weather surface is beyond criticism and the track stage another twilight meeting on Tuesday when the NAP on the card looks to be the Sylvester Kirk trained BLUE CHARM in the maiden at 4.20. He made an encouraging debut when third at the course last month and may have more scope than Mankanja who defied odds of 66-1 to finish second on his debut at Wolverhampton.
PS: no surprises to see betterbet.com have the hugely talented Kauto Star as 4-6 favourite for the King George at Kempton on Boxing Day. He was a joy to watch at Sandown on Saturday in the Tingle Creek on ground that was exceptionally tacking and testing. One thing is certain - Kempton can at least guarantee a good crowd on December 26 and most punters will be cheering on this new star in the making.
