Swan linked to Cheltenham return
Trainer Colm Murphy is waiting on the availability of regular partner Tony McCoy, the 10-times champion jockey.
McCoy may be required to ride Straw Bear for his boss, the horse's millionaire owner JP McManus.
Asked if Swan could take the ride, Murphy said: "I wouldn't rule it in or out. We'll see what happens."
Swan, now a successful trainer, is held in high regard by racing fans after his exploits on the McManus-owned Istabraq, winner of the Champion Hurdle in 1998, 1999 and 2000.
McCoy has regularly ridden the nine-year-old Brave Inca and won the blue riband on him 12 months ago.
Ruby Walsh stepped in to partner the gelding to success in the December Festival Hurdle at Leopardstown over Christmas.
But Walsh could be needed for the Paul Nicholls-trained Desert Quest.
"I don't know what is happening. I'll wait until the middle of next week before we start panicking," said Murphy.
